I am the CEO of local waste management company Red Industries - The Donna Louise is very important to me and has been the chosen charity of Red for many years. I have completed Ironmans and Marathons in the past to raise money, but, after developing plantar fasciitis in 2016, long distance running has become more difficult.

I wanted to find another way to continue to raise money through charity endurance challenges, so when I was asked if I wanted to take part in this year’s Tower to Tower event, I couldn’t say no! This may be the hardest challenge I’ve done yet. I think the most demanding part for me will be the sleep deprivation and exhaustion as we row across the Channel - I’m not a ‘regular’ rower but I’ve started my training early so at least I should be on top form by May. This is going to be tough, but I’m focused on the goal of completing it and raising much needed funds for this incredible charity. Roll on May!

The team of 12 will travel by bikes, by boats and on foot in 3 stages covering road, sea and country lane from Paris to London.

Over these 4 long, long days, Team Tower to Tower will face severe fatigue, sleep deprivation, sea sickness, blisters, aching muscles and mental fatigue.
